The Power of Prayer

“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray.
Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him,
anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.”
Reflection
James doesn’t present prayer as a last resort, but as a first response to every circumstance of life.
When we rejoice, we worship.
When we’re weak or sick, seek prayer and community.
Dependence on God
Prayer teaches humility — the kind that says, “I can’t fix this on my own, but I know the One who can.”
Let it be the language of your dependence and the rhythm of your trust.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the gift of prayer — the open door to Your presence.
Teach me to pray with faith, not fear; with surrender, not striving.
When I am weary, lift me. When I am joyful, remind me to praise You.
When I see others hurting, help me stand with them in prayer.
May my life reflect the power and peace that come from communion with You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
